“Veronica spoke to [the] Girls Inc. Camp … at our photo studio, The People Picture Co. This particular group of girls were high school students of all backgrounds. We decided to pick Veronica as one of our speakers because of both her life and work experience: crisis relief [work] combined with owning her own business and being one of the top women entrepreneurs in Grand Rapids. Veronica set up the talk to be around 10 minutes and then opened to up to the girls questions… She shared her experience with being bullied and I could tell by the expressions on the girls faces they were very intrigued and starting to open up and want to talk more about this once Veronica’s talk was done.
That’s another reason why we chose Veronica as a speaker. She helps create a safe environment where [people] feel like they can be themselves and share. Another inspiring thing I noticed that doesn’t always happen after someone finishes talking and leaves it open for Question and Answer is the students asked questions one after another. There was no gap in between questions… They were very interested in what Veronica had said, her knowledge and her openness welcomed them freely to ask as many questions as they wished. I highly recommend hiring Veronica as a speaker! Our Girls Inc. Camp would not have been the same without her presence.”
