Podcasting is awesome. It can offer your message a wide reach, build your authority, provide a platform for supporting others in your Audacious way, grow your tribe, and add to your business’ revenue streams. The biggest mistake new podcasters make is starting without a business plan, including who the podcast is for and how you will monetize it, and I say this from personal experience.
Getting a podcast up and running takes time, planning, and outsourcing. Ideally, it should also become self-sustaining monetarily. When I started mine I just went for it, and while being able to jump in to a new thing is admirable, the lack of planning left my podcast un-integrated in my business, with no timeline or monetization plan, and I burnt out. Now, as cohost to another successful podcast, The Angles of Lattitude Podcast, and creator of the Disruptive Entrepreneur Podcast and the Stories of COVID™ podcast, I have learned some valuable techniques for monetizing and promoting a podcast.
